ITR FY24-25 Refund Status via PAN Card: Several taxpayers are still awaiting their income tax refunds following an extended delay in payments.

On Monday, the Income Tax Department announced that it was evaluating certain refund claims identified as “high-value” or “red-flagged” by the system, primarily due to requests for specific deductions.

The “legitimate payouts are expected to be released by December 2025,” as stated by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

To claim the refund, it’s crucial to pre-validate your bank account, file the returns, and e-verify.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how one can check their ITR refund status via PAN Card:

Step 1: Visit the official e-filing portal at https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/.

Step 2: Log in using your PAN, password, and captcha.

Step 3: Go to e-File, Income Tax Returns, and View Filed Returns.

Step 4: After you have selected the appropriate Assessment Year (AY), click ‘View Details’, where the refund status, amount, payment method, and date of credit (if paid) will be shown.
