The recovery has further set off concerns about their whereabouts, said the police.

Governor Anusuiya Uikey met the families of the missing teens and Lamsang MLA Rajen Singh on Monday and discussed the plan to launch a combined search operation. Later in the evening, the Manipur police said the search operation has begun and three persons have been detained from Kangpokpi for interrogation. “Joint security forces launched a search operation in Khenjang and K. Lhangnom villages of Kangpokpi district.

In the said operation, three individuals have been detained for further interrogation and verification in connection with the incident. Search operation continues,” read a police statement.
