An FIR has been lodged against a government school teacher in Assam’s Goalpara district after he allegedly posted a derogatory comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media, SP Amitav Sinha said on Monday. According to an officer, the FIR was lodged against Abu Taleb, a Hindi teacher at Lakhipur Higher Secondary School, on the basis of two complaints — from a local BJP member, and the second from the Inspector of Schools, Goalpara. Taleb has been suspended, pending inquiry by the Inspector of Schools.
