Maharashtra govt sets up Backward Commission

The Commission will be led by Retired Justice Sambhajirao Mhase as its chairman.

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday set up the Maharashtra State Backward Commission for looking into issues of the backward classes. The Commission will be led by Retired Justice Sambhajirao Mhase as its chairman.

The Commission for the backward classes will have following members: Dr Sarjerao Nimase (expert member); Prof Chandrashekhar Deshpande, Prof Rajabhau Karape, Dr Bhushan Kardile, Dr Dattatray Balsaraf, Dr Suvarna Rawal and Dr Peramod Yeole. The objective of the Commission is to address the concerns of backward classes in the state.
