Zeba Wadia zooms to three records

In the 100m breaststroke, Zeba clocked 1:21:46, breaking Soniasuri’s five-year-old mark of 1:23:70.

The 13-year-old’s third record came in the 100m freestyle which she won with a record 1:03:36, with Tejaswi Shetty and Sindoor Thakkar close behind.

Zeba also won the 200m butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, finised second in the 200m freestyle and won the individual championships in both under-15 and open category.

Other record breakers: 1 Avinash Kriplani (KG) in boys’ under-13 100m backstroke 1:13:56 (old record 1:14:31); 2 Sindoor Thakkar (Otters) in girls’ under-15 50m freestyle 0:29:29 (OR 0:30:35); 3 Min Kwang Shu (ASP) boys’ under17 50m breaststroke 0:38:48 (OR 0:38:61); 4 AdityaSangvekar (Y S Club) boys’ under-19 50m butterfly 0:35:62 (OR 0:38:21).

Ubhaykar in semis

N Ubhaykar entered the semi-finals of the Veteran’s National badminton tournament at the Bombay Gymkhana today.

In the quarter-finals, he defeated L Kumar Singh of Manipur in three tough games 15-5, 10-15, 15-1.
