Yuvraj stuns top seed Aayush in Talent Series

The other big upset of the day was the ouster of second seed Harsh Gurnani. Harsh fell to unseeded Udhav Gupta 1-6, 2-6. Udhav played a near flawless game while Harsh was erratic. In the semi-finals, Shukrit Guha will take on Innocent Lalrindika and Sunil Palai to face Udhav.

The only upset in the girls’ singles Under-12 round was that of fourth seeded Shiuli Dasgupta’s defeat at the hands of Priyam Periwal. Priyam prevailed 6-1, 3-6, 7-5. In the semi-finals, Mehak Sekhani will face Shreya Das and Priyam will have to fight it out against Ishita Tibrewal.

Unseeded Shiuli gave top seed Aandrita Deb a tough time before bowing out 3-6, 5-7. Second seed Adrita Banerjee breezed through to the semi-finals, defeating Assam’s Jayati Sharma 6-2, 6-3. In the last four stage, Aandrita will play Shreya Das while Neha will take on Adrita.

Marium Javed, Aishwarya Kundu, Adrija Biswas and Shreya Poddar made it to the semi-finals of the girls’ singles Under-10 event. In the boys’ singles Under-10 round, Sanil Jagtiani, Debjit Chakraborty, Vatsal Bajpai and Vikash Singh have made it to the semi-finals.
