MARCH 15: Seventeen-year-old Bhushan Patil, who was seriously injured in a shoot-out by the gangsters on Saturday in the busy Thane station road locality, succumbed on Sunday morning at the J K hospital.

Bhushan, who was studying in the Std XI at the Dyansadhana College was on his way to the Prerna Classes around 2.15 pm when he was hit by a bullet fired by one of the members of the gang who had come to demand a ransom from the Patil Saree Centre. The young boy was cremated at the Wagle Estate cremetorium, this afternoon. An eerie silence prevailed since morning at the building no 19 of Vartak Nagar where the boy stayed with his parents.

The boy’s father, Rangrao Patil, worked with Voltas Limited.
