Yerran Naidu hurt in Naxal attack

Under the shadow of fresh Naxalite attack targeting senior TDP leader K. Yerran Naidu, polling for the first phase of simultaneous elections to 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly constituencies will be held on Tuesday covering extremist-affected Telangana, parts of coastal Andhra region and the state capital. As the landmine blast targeting Naidu’s vehicle in Srikakulam district came as a grim reminder of the extremist threat, the authorities have put in place elaborate security arrangements.—(PTI)
