MUMBAI, DECEMBER 19: ST Xavier’s, Fort and St Agnes, Byculla opened up a sizeable lead for the overall team championship stakes in the MSSA-Colgate inter-school athletics championships at University Pavilion on the penultimate day. While Xavier’s (100 points) had a 56-point edge over Dominic Savio, Andheri, in the boys section, St Agnes (183) were ahead by a whopping 121-point margin.

The battle for top honours in the co-ed schools section hotted up, with defending champions St Joseph, Juhu’s (63.5) sway being challenged by Udayachal, Vikhroli (60.5).

Kapoor brothers shine
Vishal Kapoor of HR College bagged the Boys under-17 title with a fluent 9-3 9-3 9-7 victory over Sahil Vora of Cathedral and John Connon in the Air- India-SRAM junior squash third-leg at CCI today.

It was another memoriable day for the Kapoors as Vishal’s brother Mihir, also of HR, triumphed in the Under-19 category with a 9-2 9-6 9-5 win over Faran Machra.

CCI President’s XI win
Cricket Club of India President’s XI cruised to a nine-wicket win over the touring Malaysian under-15 team at the Brabourne Stadium, today.
Brief scores: Malaysia u-15 132-7 (B Indran 48, Mohd Huzairi 33; Kinjal Patel 3-21) lost to CCI President’s XI 133-1 (Kinjal Patel 58 n.o., Rahul Sawant 31 n.o.) by 9 wickets.
