MUMBAI, FEB 26: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today confirmed that the National selectors would meet here on March 3 to prune the World Cup probables list from 30 to 19.``The meeting has been fixed at 1200 noon,'' said BCCI executive secretary Sharad Diwadkar said here today.Yesterday BCCI's secretary Jaywant Lele, while announcing from Baroda the postponement of the meeting to the first week of March, had said that it has been tentatively fixed for next Wednesday. The Board had sought and secured special permission from the England and Wales Board - organisers of the May 14-June 20 mega event - a few days' grace period for pruning the probables list to 19.As per the tournament rules each team has to send the names of nineteen players to the organisers on or before February 28 and the final list of 15 players and four standbyes by March 31.The Indian board had specifically requested for the grace period as it wanted Gaekwad, Azharuddin, team physio Andrew Kokinos and doctor Ravinder Chadha to see Mumbai stars Vinod Kambli and Ajit Agarkar first-hand in a special nets session after returning from Colombo. Both these players have been out of the National team for lengthy periods because of injuries and had submitted fitness certificates to the Board on Monday.
