Defenders Jonathan Woodgate and Walter Samuel will miss Real Madrid’s tour of the US and Asia, the club said on their website on Monday. England’s Woodgate, 25, returned to training with the first team when the club started pre-season preparations on Friday. Real said Woodgate would continue to work on his recovery programme for a thigh injury. The central defender has not played since completing his move from Newcastle United for nearly 20 million euros ($24.65 million) last August. He was scheduled to make his debut last October but suffered a recurrence of the injury in training and remained sidelined for the rest of the season. (Reuetrs)
