Arsenal’s performance was unacceptable, manager Arsene Wenger said after his team lost 2-1 away to Middlesbrough on Saturday night. “I didn’t dream that Chelsea would lose points against Sunderland today. What’s more worrying is that we are going home with zero points and with the mistakes that we made at the back,” Wenger said.“That is not acceptable,” he said after Arsenal slipped further adrift of Premier League pacesetters Chelsea with their second defeat of the season. Champions Chelsea have taken a maximum 15 points from their five games, whereas last season’s runners-up Arsenal have taken six from two wins in four matches.Arsenal fell behind to goals by Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Massimo Maccarone inside an hour and only managed a consolation strike from Jose Antonio Reyes in injury time.
