Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger felt nothing but frustration after his team could only manage a 0-0 draw against Lokomotiv Moscow in their Champions League Group B match on Tuesday. ‘‘We’re frustrated because we feel we had a chance to win the game and because we are used to scoring goals. But we couldn’t find the opening,’’ Wenger told reporters.‘‘We came here to win the game and when you don’t, obviously you feel frustrated. If it’s a good or bad result you will know it at the end of the competition.’’The result left Arsenal and Lokomotiv still looking for their first victory and goals after both teams lost their opening matches to Inter Milan and Dynamo Kiev respectively two weeks ago.‘‘I feel we didn’t do enough, especially on set-pieces,’’ Wenger said. ‘‘We could have done better from free kicks. We gave them too much room in the first half. We tried to put more pressure on in the second half, but of course, as long as we didn’t score the first goal it was a very different game,’’ he added. But the Frenchman was delighted with his team’s spirit. ‘‘The spirit was absolutely fantastic and the boys gave absolutely everything tonight. I can only congratulate my team on their efforts,’’ he said.Wenger’s counterpart Yuri Syomin, however, was pleased with the outcome. ‘‘Let’s cheer it for our team, we got the first point tonight,’’ the Lokomotiv coach told reporters. ‘‘Last year our start in the Champions League was much worse. I think tonight was an even game with equal chances from both sides. Our players did what they were told to do — to try keeping the ball away from Arsenal’s dangerous players. And our defence played well tonight.’’ (Reuters)
