We’ll not budge from our stand on nuke deal: Left

Veteran leader Jyoti Basu said there would be no change in the stand of Left parties on Indo-US nuclear deal.

Marxist veteran leader Jyoti Basu on Friday said there would be no change in the stand of Left parties on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

”The Prime Minister has made a move for operationalisation of the Indo-US nuclear deal but we will not budge from our stand,” said the nonagenarian former chief minister.

Talking to reporters after the CPI(M) state secretariat meeting, Basu said, ”Nothing has been finalised as far as I know. But I have no idea what compromise they (the Centre) are trying to make. Our stand is quite clear on the issue.”
