Webdunia.com launches e-mail service in Marathi

PUNE, MAY 25: The first Hindi portal, webdunia.com, has announced the launch of the first Indian language e-mail service in Marathi, e-patra.com users can send free e-mails in Marathi or any other Indian language, and the recipient can reply in any Indian language too.

The e-patra user does not have to use a language keyboard as the message can be composed in any chosen language with the English keyboard. Webdunia has a pending patent on the technology.

With 14 per cent of Indian surfers looking for local language content, Webdunia was launched in September ’99 to enable and pioneer Internet applications and solutions in Indian languages to increase the appeal of Internet in India.
