Christie’s may have auctioned Da Vinci work

LONDON: A portrait auctioned by Christie’s for a little over $21,000 may be a priceless piece of art by Leonardo da Vinci,art experts have claimed. They believe that the painting,which appeared in 1998,seems to have come from a 500-year-old book containing the family history of the Duke of Milan. It could be the portrait of the duke’s daughter made by da Vinci for her wedding book,said art historian Martin Kemp,of the University of Oxford. “Finding it is a miracle in a way. I was amazed,” Kemp was quoted by LiveScience.

Lindsay Lohan faces 18 months jail term

LONDON: Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is set to attend court on October 19 to see if she faces an 18-month prison term after allegedly skipping court-ordered therapy sessions. Judge Stephanie Sautner recently berated the 25-year-old star for failing to find a therapist for weekly sessions,which was part of her sentence for stealing a $2,500 necklace from a boutique in January,Femalefirst reported. But Lohan,who previously served 35 days under house arrest for the offence,claims to have carried out her therapy sessions over the phone.

Star Trek star Zachary Quinto says he is gay

LOS ANGELES: Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto has confirmed he is gay,following the suicide of homosexual teenager Jamey Rodemeyer. The 34-year-old actor,who is best known for playing Spock in the 2009 movie reboot of Star Trek,feels more work needs to be done about equality for homosexuals because he believes a lot of people are terrified of facing their feelings,the Hollywood Reporter said. “As a gay man,it made me feel there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed,” he said in an interview.
