Tiananmen Confucius statue missing
BEIJING: The statue of Confucius,the ancient Chinese philosopher has been removed from Tiananmen square here,barely three months after it was unveiled,sparking off speculation whether the government has a rethink over permitting sculpture of first non-Communist icon. The 9.5-metre-high bronze statue located in front of the recently reopened National Museum near imposing Tiananmen Square was removed overnight Global Times reported.
