Woman kills self,case against techie husband

Police said Achalla and Padma got married at Hyderabad in 2007 and lived there for around five months. They left for London and returned to Hyderabad eight months later and were there for nearly five more months. Meanwhile,Padma had given birth to a girl child,Yashaswini. Achalla soon left for Germany for two months. After he came back,the couple moved into a flat in Keshavnagar,Mundhwa.

MS Modhve,sub inspector with Mundhwa police station and the investigating officer,said,“Padma’s mother Ramadevi Vishnuvajala,has alleged that Achalla and his mother Naglakshmi used to harass her daughter for having given birth to a girl child. She said they tortured her mentally and physically for more than an year. We have filed a case against both of them.”

On Thursday morning,Padma had an argument with her husband after which she allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling fan with a dupatta. Modhve said,“The complainant has told us that Achalla works for a software firm in Magarpatta.”

Devidas Patil,senior police inspector with Mundhwa police station said,“Both the accused have gone to their native place reportedly for performing the last rites of Padma.
