Want friendly ties with Pak: Rao

The US operation that killed Osama bin Laden “deep inside Pakistan” raises the question of the sanctuary enjoyed by terrorists in that country,Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao has said.

In a speech last week,Rao said: “Our relationship with Pakistan has been complicated by the issue of terrorism and the need for Pakistan to take ameliorative action to eradicate terrorism against India. We desire friendly and cooperative relations with Pakistan.”

Recently,she said,India has embarked on a “comprehensive and serious dialogue” with Pakistan on all issues of mutual interest and concern.
