The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday announced rewards of Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Rajesh Pilot and Jitendra Pandey respectively — two of the main accused in the bomb blast outside the house of State Minister Nand Gopal Nandi. Both the accused are on the run.

Seven persons,including the minister and The Indian Express senior reporter Vijay Pratap Singh,were injured in the blast. While one of the injured,Rakesh Malviya,died the same day,Vijay succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

The ADG (Law & Order),Brij Lal,said Rajesh Pilot and Jitendra Pandey were the main people who had planted the bomb. Jitendra’s brother,Manoj Pandey,is also wanted in the case. The Pandey brothers are related to Dilip Mishra,a history-sheeter who is alleged to be the key conspirator.

Meanwhile,Allahabad DIG Braj Bhushan said the police have been granted custody remand of four of the accused,Dilip Mishra,Mahendra Mishra,Rajesh Yadav and Kripa Shanker Pandey. The four will be interrogated on Friday,he said.

The names of Dilip Mishra,Mahendra Mishra,Rajesh Pilot,Manoj Pandey and Jitendra Pandey cropped up in the case after the arrests of Rajesh Yadav and Kripa Shanker. Both Dilip and Mahendra are already in jail in connection with some other case.
