Thirty mobile phones stolen in Delhi every day

A total of 966 mobile phones were stolen from various parts of the capital this month

At least 30 mobile phones are stolen in Delhi every day.

A total of 966 mobile phones were stolen from various parts of the capital this month with north-east Delhi topping the list at 368 followed by Central Delhi which registered 166 such cases.

Last year,10,484 mobile phones were stolen from the capital.

According to Delhi Police statistics,North Delhi was another area from where a large number of mobile phones were stolen when it reported 133 cases this year so far followed by South-East Delhi with 102 cases.

New Delhi district registered 64 cases followed by South Delhi 43 and Outer 32,a senior police official said.

Of the 64 cases registered in New Delhi,31 were registered in Parliament Street police station followed by 21 in Tilak Marg and 12 in Barakhamba Road.

However,no such cases were registered at the police stations in Connaught Place,Chanakyapuri and Tughlaq Road.
