Taiwan stocks rose 0.58 per cent to end at a three-month closing high on Tuesday,with ASE outperforming after the world’s top chip packager bought an Italian rival’s unit in Singapore.
Investors also piled into shares of other technology firms that have better earnings prospects this year,pushing the broader electronics sub-index up 0.28 per cent. Financials extended Monday’s gains to rise 0.58 per cent.
The main TAIEX share index closed up 45.85 points at 7,957.53,the highest close since April 30.
