Amid a firming trend in global markets,silver futures prices today moved up by 0.17 per cent to Rs 55,015 per kg as speculators created fresh positions. At the Multi Commodity Exchange,silver for delivery in July rose by Rs 92,or 0.17 per cent,to Rs 55,015 per kg,with a business turnover of 1,466 lots. Likewise,the metal for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 79,or 0.14 per cent,to Rs 56,340 per kg,with a trade volume of 93 lots. Globally,silver rose 0.17 per cent to USD 28.79 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today. Market analysts said reports of a firming trend in precious metals overseas mainly influenced silver futures here.
