Siemens Q2 net rises 53% to Rs 277.6 cr

The company had net profit of Rs 181.08 crore in the March quarter last fiscal.

Heavy electrical equipment maker Siemens Ltd said its net profit grew 53.34 per cent to Rs 277.68 crore in the second quarter ended March 31,2011,over the corresponding period a year ago.

The company had net profit of Rs 181.08 crore in the March quarter last fiscal,Siemens said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Net income of the company increased to Rs 3033.72 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 2212.42 crore during the same period previous year,it said.

For the six-month period ended March 31,2011,net profit rose to Rs 522.33 crore from Rs 419.61 crore in the half-yearly period previous year.

Net income jumped up to Rs 5599.71 crore in the six-month period under review from Rs 4079.49 crore during the same period last fiscal.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 862.95,marginally up from the previous close on the BSE.
