Shehla Masood case: Accused refuse to take lie test

The main accused in the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood, architect Zahida Parvez and her associate Saba Farooqi

The main accused in the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood, architect Zahida Parvez and her associate Saba Farooqi,on Monday refused, for the second time,to undergo a lie-detection test despite their assurances,to a special CBI court,to the contrary.

Sources in the CBI said the accused cited health grounds,as earlier,to refuse the test. The CBI,the sources added, can’t do much because it is mandatory to take consent of the person before carrying out the test.

The CBI is trying to conduct the test on BJP legislator Dhruv Narayan Singh, who has also consented to it before a court in Indore.

The CBI has so far arrested four persons for the murder — Pervez,Farooqi,Shaquib Ali,an alleged historysheeter, and Irfan, the man who allegedly pulled the trigger and who was arrested from Kanpur.

Masood was shot dead on August 16,2011.
