Sex tape: Jharkhand IPS officer dismissed

Natarajan was accused of seeking sexual favours from the woman,a mother of a four-year-old.

More than six years after he was allegedly caught on tape in a compromising position with a tribal woman,suspended Inspector General of Police P S Natarajan has been dismissed from service.

“President Pratibha Patil has given nod to his dismissal,” a senior government official told The Sunday Express on Saturday. Natarajan,a 1975-batch IPS officer,was not available for comment.

Natarajan was accused of seeking sexual favours from the woman,a mother of a four-year-old.

The woman is now in jail on charges of conspiracy with a faction of the Naxals.

After the tape showing Natarajan surfaced in 2005,it led to widespread protests and soon he was arrested and suspended.

Last year,after he came out of jail on bail,the Jharkhand government recommended his dismissal to the Centre. “This has been accepted by the Centre,” said Joint Secretary (Home) Sadanand Sahay.
