Rajkot Self-financed Schools’ Association (RSFSA) has been opposing the notification issued a year ago in the wake of around 30 students committing suicide during August-September 2011. The aim was to reduce academic burden on students.

RSFSA representatives met collector Rajendra Kumar Tuesday to demand the withdrawal of the notification.

The collector maintained the notification only reiterated the emphasis on breaks for the students as per the academic schedule of secondary and higher secondary schools.

Sundays remain a bone of contention. The RSFSA wants to conduct classes for board students on all Sundays.
