Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Thursday sought to know about the implementation of the NREGA scheme in the Naxal-affected areas during a meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on NREGA chaired by Rural Development Minister C P Joshi. When officials of the Rural Development Ministry quoted figures to claim that it was doing well in the Naxal- affected regions,Rahul was learnt to have questioned as to whether any study had been conducted to verify the data provided by the state governments. Has any study been done about the performance on the ground? Rahul was learnt to have asked at the meeting.
