I needed a composer who could give me that feel. It was difficult to get Rahmans time. I was lucky when he decided to come on board It is confirmed news that A.R. Rahman will be composing music for Aanand L. Rais next titled Raanjhanaa. The project has been in the news as Dhanush of Kolaveri Di fame is the hero. However now the news is that the film will have about eight songs and Rahman would also be doing the background score. Though the film is set in Benaras,Rai said,It is the Benaras with an attitude, the UP that is known for romance. Raanjhanaa is a contemporary love story with a fresh nostalgic feel and hence I needed a composer who could give me that feel. It was difficult to get Rahman as he had decided against doing any Hindi film after the Yashraj project. I was lucky when he decided to come on board. As for Dhanush lending his voice for the film, the director asserted that the actor had not been signed to cash in on his Kolaveri Di fame. There is no condition as such that Dhanush has to sing in the film, he said adding that the South actor is honing his skills in Hindi laced with the UP dialect. Rai plans to have a brief shooting spell before the rains as he wants to capture Delhi. The main shooting schedule,he says, may commence from mid-August. Kamlu to release mid-August Sentiments about 3D is now quite positive. So I am glad about my first experience with animation. I wanted my product to be the best from India. Kamlu has the best quality,on par with international films Veteran filmmaker Govind Nihalani, who has tried his hand at 3D animation with Kamlu Happy Happy for the first time, regrets not being able to release the film in June and unable to cash in on the school summer vacations. However,he is now in discussions with distributors of the film to conduct health awareness campaigns in order to attract various satellite networks and gain some visibility. Nihalani is happy that films like Arjun -The Warrior,Chota Bheem,Madagascar 3 and others have received good response and that animation has been accepted with open arms by Indians. Sentiments about 3D is now quite positive. So I am glad that I attempted this as it is my first experience with animation. I wanted my product to be the best from India. That was also my brief given to the animation studio,Krayon Pictures in Pune. Kamlu has the best quality,on par with international films. I am very proud with what they have done, he said. Meanwhile he is also in the process of finalising his next film, the details of which he does not want to divulge right now.
