Q4 nos lift Eicher Motors,HUL stock

Shares of Eicher Motors jumped 11.38 per cent to close at Rs 1,289.50 a piece on the BSE.

Shares of Eicher Motors,Hindustan Unilever and Godrej Properties surged between 3 and 11 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange,buoyed by strong quarter earnings.

Shares of auto maker Eicher Motors jumped 11.38 per cent to close at Rs 1,289.50 a piece on the BSE,the highest in more than eight months. During the day,the stock went up by 16 per cent to a high of Rs 1,341.60.

FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever gained 3.55 per cent to close at Rs 284.75 a piece on the BSE,the highest in more than a month. Real estate developer Godrej Properties rose 4.19 per cent to settle at Rs 694.90 on the BSE.

According to market experts,good quarter earnings lifted the counters of the these companies.

Hindustan Unilever today posted a 6.46 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2,296.05 crore for the year ended March 31,2011.

Eicher Motors reported a 82.24 per cent jump in consolidated net profit for the first quarter ended March 31,2011 at Rs 73.28 crore.

Godrej Properties registered a net profit of Rs 59 crore,an increase of 3 per cent,in the Januaray- March quarter of 2011 on the back of new bookings and new projects.

The result of Eicher Motors was announced after the market hours on Friday,while Godrej Properties posted its earnings on Saturday.

Meanwhile,the 30-share Sensex advanced 10.15 points,or 0.05 per cent,to close at 18,528.96.
