The Punjab Government if need be amend its industrial policy and if need be bring in a new policy. Addressing a press conference here today Anil Joshi,Minister for Industry and Commerce,Punjab said,we will good environment to the industry so that it come to the state. We will review the Industrial Policy and if need be do amendments in it and if a new policy will be needed then make a new one. He said regular inflow of FDI in the industrial sector will be ensured by providing the best infrastructure coupled with the supply of uninterrupted power. All clearances to set up new industry would be given within 30 days through the single window system. We will set up industrial hubs in the different areas of the state. He said that for strengthening the Single Window Clearances Services for getting the clearances by the industry from different departments,it was stressed that henceforth all technical support for the purpose would be given by the Punjab Infotech. He said that in case the clearances were not granted by the concerned department as per the time schedule given in the Punjab Industrial Facilitation Act,the Deemed Approvals would be given by the Department of Industries and Commerce,Punjab for getting the necessary facilities and concessions by the concerned industry within 30 days earlier the time was 40 days. Joshi said that earlier in the day he held a meeting with the General Manager-cum-Mining Officers and directed them to stop the illegal mining being carried out in their respective districts. He expressed that industrialist were facing problems for setting up new industry in the state being Punjab a land locked state with exuberant land price. He said that to tackle this problem it was decided that all the General Managers,District Industries Centers (DICs) in the state would now identify the land laying vacant for the creation of Land Bank and inform the head office immediately so that this land could be offered to the industrialist for setting up industry.
