Pistachio prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of fresh buying by retailers and stockists. Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in the prices. Pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 5 each to settle at Rs 855-875 and Rs 1,085-1,155 per kg,respectively. Marketmen said fresh buying by retailers and stockists,amid fall in supplies from overseas markets,mainly pushed up pistachio prices in the dry fruit market here. The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 12,300 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 6,500-7,300; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,100-3,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 7,000-18,000. Almond Kernel (California) Rs 420-440 per kg,Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 350-420 per kg.
