Parents brutally torture 5-year-old in Kerala,arrested

A five-year-old boy is battling for his life in Idukki district after he was brutally tortured by his father and step-mother. The police have arrested his parents,Shareef and Alisha,on the charge of attempting to murder their son,Shafeeque.

The government has formed a special medical board to treat the boy,who is has been on life support since Tuesday. The police allege that the boy’s parents were intent on killing him and that he has been persecuted for the last three years. He was made to walk with broken legs and when he faltered and crawled,his parents caned him. There were days where he was forced to sit on a hot bag of sand. His private parts were assaulted with objects.

The child’s parent admitted him to hospital after he went into a coma,the police said. Hospital authorities got suspicious on seeing the nature of his wounds and called the police. His brain has been severely damaged.

He is on life support and is not responding to medicines,a medical bulletin said.
