The Election Commission on Saturday reviewed the arrangements to ensure free and fair polls in Maharashtra,Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh. The three states go to polls on October 13. The counting of votes will take place on October 22. Chief Election Commissioner Navin B Chawla and the two Commissioners S Y Qureshi and V S Sampath on Saturday briefed 470 poll observers for Maharashtra and Haryana. Forty observers of Arunachal Pradesh were briefed by the poll panel on Friday. The observers were asked to carry out extensive videography of the poll process and monitor the process of vulnerability mapping. Vulnerability mapping was used during the last Lok Sabha elections throughout the country to identify the segments vulnerable to threat and intimidation.
