The crisis-hit BP's assets are up for grabs as the erstwhile iconic corporate fights to stay alive in the wake of the huge oil spill that it created off-shore the US. Understandably,it would need a lot of money to clean up the spill as well as pay reparations to the US. The crisis sale is attracting every company in the world looking to buy first-rate assets cheap. And that includes Indian companies. Indian state-run explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corp may partner with government-run Oil India and GAIL to buy BP's stake in an offshore Vietnam gas field,ONGC's head said on Thursday. We may take Oil India and GAIL with us. Modalities are being worked out. We may partner PetroVietnam. It all depends on discussions and negotiations,R.S. Sharma saoid from Vietnam. Earlier,Indian Oil Minister Murli Deora said ONGC and PetroVietnam were considering a joint bid for the BP stake.
