J&K Police on Friday claimed to have arrested one of the main accused in the stone-pelting incident in which a 10-day-old baby was killed in north Kashmirs Baramulla district earlier this week. On February 22,a group of men in two vehicles,enforcing a strike,intercepted a passenger vehicle at Janbazpora on the outskirts of Baramulla town and pelted it with stones. Passengers panicked and jumped out. One of them,Kulsooma,who was holding her 10-day-old son Irfan, was allegedly pushed by the attackers and the baby fell from her lap. He died in the hospital the same day. We traced the two vehicles used by the attackers and picked up one of the main accused,Tanveer Ahmed,from Baramulla, a police officer said. Raids are on to trace the other accused. All those involved in the attack have been identified. We have launched a manhunt to nab them, SSP Shakeel Ahmed Beig said.
