Oberoi Realty today surged nearly nine per cent at the Bombay Stock Exchange on the first day of trade amid volatile broader market which ended in the negative zone. Shares of the realty major garnered heavy demand during the day and rose by 8.82 per cent to end at Rs 282.95 over its issue price of Rs 260. The scrip had jumped 15 per cent to touch an intra-day high of Rs 299. On the National Stock Exchange,the scrip closed at Rs 280.15,up 7.75 per cent over the issue price. In terms of volume,over 6.55 crore shares of the Mumbai-based company were traded on the first day of trade on the national exchanges. The Mumbai-based company which has raised Rs 185.15 crore through its initial public offer (IPO),had entered the capital market with a price band of Rs 253 - 260 per share. Meanwhile,the 30-share benchmark Sensex closed at 19,872.15,down 110.98 points from the previous close.
