No compromise on discipline: Osamu Suzuki to Maruti union

Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation,said that the management will not accept any kind of indiscipline at its plants in the country.

Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation,on Friday said that the management will not accept any kind of indiscipline at its plants in the country even as the tiff between the Maruti management and its Manesar plant workers continued on its 12th day today.

In a statement issued by the company here on Friday,chairman Osamu Suzuki has said no compromise on discipline will be done at the Manesar plant where production had come to a halt on August 29 after the company suspended and dismissed 21 employees on charges of sabotaging production and deliberately causing quality problems in the vehicles manufactured at the plant. It also asked all workers to sign a Good Conduct Bond. 

Suzuki,who is currently on a visit to India,conveyed his decision in a meeting with the representatives of Maruti Udyog Kamgar Union (MUKU),the elected union body of Maruti Suzuki workers on Thursday.

Indiscipline will not be tolerated not in Japan,not in India. It is never in the interest of any company and its people,the chairman said.

Earlier last week,R C Bhargava,Chairman,Maruti Suzuki told the newly elected members of the MUKU that the company will not allow workers to resume work until they sign the bond.
