NE students ‘assaulted’ by ACP,son

An Assistant Commissioner of Police and his son allegedly assaulted four college students from the Northeast in Adugodi area here,but later struck a compromise with them,police said

An Assistant Commissioner of Police and his son allegedly assaulted four college students from the Northeast in Adugodi area here,but later struck a compromise with them,police said.

ACP Dawood Khan and his son assaulted the four,who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol,for talking loudly in front of their house,they said. A complaint was not registered as a compromise was reached between the ACP and students,police said.

Northeasterners had left the city in large numbers in August following rumours of attacks on them. The government had deputed Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister R Ashoka to Guwahati and other places to assure safety to the Northeasterners on their return to the city.
