Three personnel of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) were killed in an encounter with Maoists in Kaushlanar area under Jhara police station of Narainpur district Tuesday. A joint team of CAF and district police had left the police station for an operation,when a group of Maoists in civilian dress suddenly opened fire at the force around 12.30 pm, ADG (Naxal) R K Vij said. The encounter continued for nearly an hour. The dead included head constable Som Bahadur Thapa,constables Mahendra Singh and Manoj Singh. DGP Ramniwas said six Maoists were killed.
