Producer Mukul Deora has bagged the rights to one of the most prestigious international projects – The White Tiger. Based on the 2008 Booker prize winning novel by Indian author Aravind Adiga,the film will also be produced by Patrick Milling Smith and John Hart who last collaborated on Academy Award nominated film Revolutionary Road,starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet. Deora is also producing the sequel to Bheja Fry,slated to release on June 17.
Recreating Rafis magic
Sonu Niigaam is all set to recreate the magic of late legendary singer Mohammad Rafis voice at a musical show,A Musical Journey Of Maestros,to be held on May 7 at Mumbais Andheri Sports Complex. In another first,Pyarelal Sharma of Laxmikant-Pyarelal duo is set to perform live at the show after twenty years. Sonu will be accompanied by Alka Yagnik,Kavita Krishnamurthy,Sudesh Bhosle and others as well as 100 musicians and 60 chorus singers.
Casino worth crores
For a scene in his Double Dhamaal,director Inder Kumar has created a huge set at a whopping budget of Rs1.5 crore. The shoot,that is currently on in Mumbai,required a backdrop of a casino and hence a lavish set was built at Mehboob Studios in Bandra. Reliance Entertainment and Maruti Intenationals Double Dhamaal stars Sanjay Dutt,Kangna Ranaut,Arshad Warsi,Riteish Deshmukh,Ashish Chowdhry,Javed Jaffery and Mallika Sherawat. The movie is set for release on June 24.
Minissha at Cannes
Minissha Lamba is all set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year that is being held from May 11. The actress will be present at the premiere for Woody Allens Midnight in Paris which will also see a host of Hollywood superstars at the event.
Minissha is scheduled to leave for Cannes on May 10 to make it in time for the premiere.
