Finance Minister A K Walia is lobbying hard for the Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg flyover, the plan for which has been rejected thrice by the Delhi Urban Arts Commission (DUAC). The project was first mooted by the PWD.
On Friday,Walia met the vice chairman of Delhi Development Authority A K Nigam. A proposal for a flyover at the Mathura Road-Bhairon Marg junction was also discussed. This junction would be overburdened with traffic during the Commonwealth Games…The DDA has agreed to initiate spade work in this direction, Walia said.
Walia has also assured that work on the flyover opposite Karkardooma Court complex would start in December. He also discussed the issue of a new flyover opposite Akshardham Temple. The DDA will also initiate a study for a new flyover across Yamuna between Usmanpur Pushta and Chandgiram Akhara.
