Man held for trying to blow up Capitol Hill

Amine El Khalifi,29,was arrested in the car parking of the US legislature a few hundred metres from the Capitol by agents posing as al-Qaeda operatives

Undercover FBI agents arrested a Moroccan,suspected to be linked to the al-Qaeda,for allegedly trying to bomb Capitol Hill,US officials said Saturday.

Amine El Khalifi,29,was arrested in the car parking of the US legislature a few hundred metres from the Capitol by agents posing as al-Qaeda operatives. Unknown to Khalifi,the suicide vest and the sub-machine guns he was carrying were fakes,supplied to him by FBI agents during a sting operation. Lalit K Jha
