In a stunning climax to a two year old trial,a Malaysian court Monday acquitted opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim,64,of sodomy charges, and the admittedly surprised former deputy premier immediately set his sights on pushing out the long-serving ruling coalition.

High Court Judge Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah took just three minutes to deliver his judgement to a packed court house finding him not guilty of sodomising 26-year-old Mohd Saiful Bukhari, his former aide.
