With elections round the corner,the Union Home Ministry seems to have decided not to antagonise the lawyers. It is learnt that the Home Ministry has made up its mind not to notify the recent amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code,which have upset a section of the lawyers. Incidentally,the MHA is not alone in trying to placate the lawyers. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has also written to the MHA seeking the scrapping of the amendments.
