Kent RO System plans a turnover of Rs 500 crores by 2012-13 up from Rs 330 crores recorded by the company in 2011-12,Mahesh Gupta,Managing Director of Kent RO Systems told on phone from Ludhiana after launch of three new products that water purifiers industry was witnessing 20 per cent annual growth. However,Kent was way ahead of industry growth and the company sales had grown 35 per cent during 2011-12 over previous year. Kent sold 3,00,000 Reverse Osmosis (ROs) last year and this years target was 4,00,000 units. He said that more awareness about protection from water borne diseases,increasing industrial pollution and coming up of cluster group housing had led to increase in demand for water purifiers. Gupta said that Indian water purifier market was pegged at Rs 2000 crores. He said that the new products launched today at Ludhiana included Kent Water Softner,Ozone Vegetable Purifier and Kent Ozone air Purifier. Priced at about Rs 6000,the company targets to sell 50,000 units of each product in the first year. The company at present has about 40 per cent of market share and plans to increase the same by going in for franchising route. Her said that RO purifiers accounted for 80 per cent of total sales. He informed that the company recently commissioned Roorkee plant in Uttarkhand. Alongwith NOIDA plant,the company plans to raise capacity to 7 lakh water purifirs per year. The company also plans to mark presence in global market by exporting products to Middle East countries,Iraq,Dubai,Bangladesh,Nepal and Kenya
