The Congress partys trade union wing,Indian National Trade Union Congress INTUC,has split, with a section of leaders launching a rebellion against its president G Sanjeeva Reddy, accusing him of colluding with Opposition parties to target the UPA government.

The rival wing held an election last month,in which Ashok Choudhury was declared INTUC Federation president. Officially, however,Reddy remains INTUC president and Special Invitee to the Congress Working Committee.

Addressing a press conference here,Choudhury said Reddy had colluded with the trade unions of Opposition parties and gheraoed Parliament to oppose UPAs policies. He said Reddy was slated to join a strike called by other unions on February 28. He said his panel is not a rival panel because it has been elected through a due process.

Reddy was not available for comments.
