Imran Khan most promising

If there were awards for reinvention, chances are that Imran Khan would be a top contender.

It was fun reading Knotty issues,a candid Q & A session with actor Imran Khan(Screen,November 26). If there were awards for reinvention, chances are that Imran Khan would be a top contender.

I can remember Imran topped the list of the industry’s most promising new heroes trouncing Ranbir Kapoor and Harman Baweja in a survey conducted by a news channel. The 27-year old, hailing from one of the oldest film families (he’s a fruit off the Nasir Husain tree),made his debut in a film that was released alongside the Rs. 50 crore-plus sci-fi extravaganza Love Story 2050. But the seemingly small film became the proverbial tortoise to 2050’s hare.

And Imran Khan – the star – was born. For films like Luck and Kidnap,Imran had put down his ‘chocolate-boy’ image and went all bronze and brawn. I’m really looking forward to see his performance in Break Ke Baad.
