State-owned Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd today reported 48 per cent jump in net profit in the quarter ended March 31 on back of higher refining margin.
Net profit increased by 48.2 per cent to Rs 1,122.66 crore in the January-March quarter from Rs 757.53 crore in the same period the previous year, S Roy Choudhury,CMD,said

The company earned 8.55 on turning every barrel of crude oil into fuel in Q4 of 2010-11 fiscal against 3.22 per barrel gross refining margin. Also,the refinery throughput at 4.32 million tonnes was higher than 3.91 million tonnes in Q4 of 2009-10 fiscal.
