Home Ministry’s delayed action

The Union Home Ministry’s decision to ban CPI (Maoist) could be a case of delayed action.

The Union Home Ministry’s decision to ban CPI (Maoist) could be a case of delayed action. Late last year, there was specific intelligence input pointing to increased presence and growing activities of the group in parts of West Bengal,Chhattisgarh and Orissa. After receiving the information, the MHA had begun the process to ban the group. In fact,in response to his letter, the Home Ministry informed BJP Rajya Sabha member from Chhattisgarh Shreegopal Vyas that the Government had already started the process. But the move didn’t fructify then. Better late than never.
